Tasting Notes

Offers a refined and harmonious profile, with aromas of blackcurrant, graphite, and violets complemented by hints of cedar, tobacco, and crushed stone. On the palate, it is elegant and precise, showcasing fine-grained tannins, vibrant acidity, and layered dark fruit. The wine finishes long and silky, with a lingering mineral elegance — a true reflection of Lafite’s timeless style and the finesse of the 2015 vintage.

Pairings

It pairs beautifully with roast lamb infused with rosemary, beef tenderloin or dry-aged ribeye in a red wine reduction, and duck breast glazed with fig or berry compote. For more adventurous palates, venison or other game meats with wild mushrooms highlight the wine’s earthy undertones. Vegetarian options like truffle risotto or creamy polenta also work wonderfully, as do aged cheeses such as Comté or mature Gruyère.

Decant

For 2 to 3 hours to allow the wine to open up, soften its youthful tannins, and express its full bouquet of dark fruits, graphite, and subtle floral and spice notes. Serve at 16–18°C (60–64°F) to preserve its finesse and balance

Drinking Window

2025 to 2065+. The wine will truly shine from 2028 onward, as its complexity, depth, and silky structure continue to evolve
