Discovering a New Voice in Burgundy
In the heart of Vosne-Romanée, a quiet revolution is taking place. Charles Lachaux, the sixth-generation winemaker behind Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux, has transformed one of Burgundy's most historic estates into a beacon of modern, soulful viticulture.

What Makes Charles Lachaux So Special?
Charles isn’t interested in control. He doesn’t trim his vines. He doesn’t punch down during fermentation. He doesn't chase scores. Instead, he listens. To the vines. To the seasons. To the subtle rhythm of nature. His approach is intuitive and deeply respectful of the land.

In the vineyard, the changes are radical. Vines grow vertically, untrimmed and tied by hand with raffia, following their natural flow. Charles increased planting density to as many as 20,000 vines per hectare, creating intense root competition and unparalleled depth.
In the cellar, the same philosophy continues. He practices 100% whole-cluster fermentation, avoids punch-downs entirely, and limits the use of new oak. Extraction happens slowly, naturally. The result? Wines that are hauntingly fragrant, textural, and full of emotion. They don't shout. They whisper.

The world has noticed. Sommeliers, collectors, and Burgundy lovers are scrambling for allocations. Demand far outweighs supply. Yet Charles remains quietly focused on the work, not the noise.
This month, Wine Society is proud to offer a small allocation of his rarest releases in Singapore. Whether you're a collector or new to wine tasting in Singapore, this is your chance to discover some of Burgundy’s most profound expressions.
