Tasting Notes

bursts from the glass with intense aromas of apricot preserves, pineapple, mango, orange marmalade, acacia honey, saffron, candied citrus peel, and white flowers. The palate is incredibly concentrated yet remarkably precise. Despite its richness, vibrant acidity provides exceptional freshness and lift, leading to an extraordinarily long, pure, and seamless finish marked by honeyed citrus, dried fruits, and noble botrytis complexity.

Pairings

Perfect with foie gras, Roquefort and other blue cheeses, butter-poached lobster, seared scallops, and roast duck with orange glaze. For dessert, pair with crème brûlée, tarte tatin, peach or apricot tart, and citrus-based pastries. It also works beautifully with spicy Asian dishes such as mild curry or Cantonese-style roasted meats, where the wine's sweetness and acidity create a luxurious balance.

Decant

Not necessary. For optimal expression, open 15–30 minutes before serving to allow the aromas of honey, apricot, tropical fruits, saffron, and botrytis complexity to fully unfold.

Drinking Window

2020 to 2070+. One of the greatest vintages ever produced by Rieussec, the 2011 combines extraordinary concentration.
