Invina Secano 2020

Invina Secano (2020)
Batuco Vineyard is located in the coastal mountains of Maule.
Without the Andes snowmelt to provide summer irrigation water, this zone has scarce water resources and extremely restricted irrigation regimes. However, proximity to the cold Pacific Ocean keep temperatures moderate, and the deep clay soils provide just enough moisture for the grapes to mature slowly and elegantly. Altitude brings extreme temperature oscillations that reach over 25 degrees, which bring out deep color and character. Tempranillo is a variety that is well adapted to growing under restricted water regimes. Indeed, the water restriction forces the plant to produce smaller grape bunches and tighter berries, all the more to concentrate its flavors.
We planted Tempranillo in the Ojos Verdes sector of Batucoin 2008. Our first harvest for Secanowas in 2018.
