Invina Decabeza (2022)
DeCabeza is a blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mourvèdre and Carignan grapes that are grown on head-trained vines in the Ojos Verdes sector of Batuco vineyard.
These varieties are traditionally from Spain or southern France were chosen for their hardiness and ability to thrive with minimal water, and are usuallyplanted as head-trained, or “gobelet” with no trellis wires, forming what looks like a bush at the end of each season.
Garnacha sets the tone for this wine with it’s zesty acidity, Tempranillo weighing in with chewy tannins, Carignan giving color and depth, and Mourvédre adding a dash of blackberry.
